Oil spills are more common than you might think, and they happen in many different ways. There are thousands of oil spills occur in USA, Gulf Coast waters each year. Most of these spills are small, for example when oil spills while refueling a ship. But these spills can still cause damage, especially if they happen in sensitive environments, like beaches, mangroves, and wetlands.

The Large oil spills are like dangerous disasters. These happen mainly when pipelines break down or any Oil tanker ships break/sink. Even some time in drilling operations due to technical or mechanical fault it may go wrong. The consequences is harmful to our ecosystems.

Petroleum is a heterogeneous mixture of hydrocarbons, This contain Aliphatic (n-alkanes), Alicyclic, and Aromatic groups. These hydrocarbons are organic compounds containing carbon and hydrogen, which are highly insoluble in water. Microorganisms can either degrade produce hydrocarbons in the presence of certain metabolic pathway to specific function.
