GEOSPHERES™ Grey Series · Coarse Grade

GP-600 Grey
Ceramic Microspheres

A coarse, high-strength alumino-silicate ceramic filler engineered for density reduction, high build and mechanical stability in thick industrial and cementitious systems.

~10 µm
D50 · True density ~2.3 g/cc
WHY GP-600

Lower density with higher-build efficiency

Its coarse particle distribution and rigid spherical structure support volume filling, coating thickness, controlled rheology and mechanical stability.

01

Coarse Distribution

Approximately 10 µm D50, 25 µm D90 and 35 µm D95 support thickness and volume filling.

02

Effective Density Reduction

A true density of approximately 2.3 g/cc is lower than the finer GP-series grades.

03

Low Oil Absorption

Approximately 23 g/100 g supports higher filler loading without excessive binder demand.

04

High-Build Capability

Designed for thick coatings, mortars, industrial flooring and cementitious systems.

05

Mechanical Stability

Rigid ceramic spheres support stress distribution, structural integrity and reduced shrinkage.

06

Thermal Stability

Stable above 1,000°C for demanding industrial and refractory environments.

APPLICATIONS & END-USE MARKETS

Optimised for thick, high-volume systems

GP-600 is designed where greater film thickness, lower density, volume filling and structural integrity are primary requirements.

Why GP-600 works in lightweight, thick-section systems

The coarser particle distribution creates volume efficiently, while spherical morphology supports flow, packing and uniform stress distribution in coatings, mortars, flooring and cementing systems.

Coarse Particle Advantage

The approximately 10 µm D50 and 35 µm D95 support greater film thickness, volume filling and structural build than the finer grades.

Lower-Density Advantage

At approximately 2.3 g/cc, GP-600 has a slightly lower true density than GP-400, supporting moderate density reduction in high-volume formulations.

GP-600 positioning: a coarse, rigid and high-strength microsphere for density reduction, high build and mechanical stability—not a fine filler intended primarily for minimum surface roughness.

GP-600 compared with GP-400

GP-600 Coarse Grade

D50: approximately 10 µm
D90: approximately 25 µm
D95: approximately 35 µm
True density: approximately 2.3 g/cc
Best fit: greater build, volume filling and lightweight cementitious systems

GP-400 Medium-Fine Grade

D50: approximately 8 µm
D90: approximately 18 µm
D95: approximately 23 µm
True density: approximately 2.4 g/cc
Best fit: balanced reinforcement, surface quality and processing

Higher Volume Filling

The coarse distribution builds thickness efficiently in mortars, flooring and high-build coatings.

Reduced Binder Demand

Oil absorption of approximately 23 g/100 g supports higher loading and controlled viscosity.

Reduced Shrinkage

The rigid ceramic structure helps limit shrinkage, cracking and deformation in thick sections.

Pressure & Heat Stability

Particle integrity and thermal stability suit oilfield cementing and demanding industrial service.

D50 ~10 µm D90 ~25 µm D95 ~35 µm Density ~2.3 g/cc Oil absorption ~23 g/100 g

Formulation advantage: GP-600 enables greater thickness and volume loading with a lower true density than the finer GP-400 and GP-200 grades, while retaining ceramic hardness and thermal stability.

Final performance depends on the resin or cement system, loading, dispersant package, application method and curing conditions. Confirm the optimum addition level through laboratory trials.

FORMULATION GUIDANCE

Designed for
practical processing

Introduce GP-600 under suitable agitation and optimise the loading according to viscosity, finish and mechanical requirements.

1

Pre-check compatibility

Confirm wetting and dispersion in the selected resin or binder system.

2

Add under controlled mixing

Use sufficient agitation for uniform incorporation without unnecessary dusting.

3

Optimise by trial

Evaluate viscosity, density, finish, adhesion and mechanical properties.

Formulator’s note

GP-600 can be used as a partial functional replacement for conventional fillers. The optimum replacement level should be established by laboratory trials.
