Closed-shell architecture

THE EMPTY INTERIOR IS THE
WEIGHT-REDUCTION ENGINE

Closed glass shells surround an empty interior. A stronger shell increases survivability, while a thinner/lower-density shell maximizes lightweighting.

Unlike dry silica powders that must first disperse, the supplied CS grades arrive as stabilized liquid dispersions engineered for rapid distribution through the mix or deep topical penetration into concrete pores.

Ceramic microsphere morphology

WHY SPHERICAL CERAMIC FILLERS FLOW DIFFERENTLY

Lower particle friction

Rounded particles roll past one another instead of mechanically interlocking like angular quartz.

Higher loading potential

Abrasion resistance

Mohs 7.0 hardness supports industrial floors, grouts and coatings.

Pressure survivability

Technical questions

FAQ

Practical information from the supplied GP Series TDS and mineral comparison.

What is the chemistry?
Silica–alumina ceramic with SiO₂ at 55–65% and Al₂O₃ at 28–36%.
Are these hollow glass bubbles?
No. The source describes them as thick-walled semi-hollow ceramic spheres with much higher density and crush strength.
What is the crush strength?
Above 60,000 psi across GP 200, GP 400, GP 600 and GP 800.
What is the hardness?
Mohs 7.0, described as quartz-like.
Which grade is best for thin high-gloss coatings?
GP 200, the finest grade at 4–5 µm d50 with Hegman ≥6.5.
Which grades are recommended for industrial flooring?
The source guide recommends GP 400 or GP 600.
Which grades are recommended for structural grouts and shotcrete?
The source guide specifies GP 600 or GP 800.
Why can GP microspheres support higher filler loading?
The TDS attributes this to spherical ball-bearing morphology that reduces inter-particle friction; its qualitative chart calls out about 25% extra loading at equal flow.
How does GP compare with quartz flour?
Both are around Mohs 7, but GP is spherical rather than angular and the source matrix reports respirable free silica below 0.1% versus above 95% for quartz flour.
Are GP microspheres lightweight fillers?
Not like hollow glass bubbles. Their true density is 2.2–2.5 g/cm³. The source emphasizes high hardness, low viscosity at high loading, abrasion resistance and crush strength.
