DUSTZEN®
ROAD
Water-dilutable polymer-emulsion technology developed to bind road fines, reduce airborne dust and extend control on mine haul roads, quarry tracks and unpaved industrial routes.
Keep fines on the road—not in the air.
Heavy vehicles repeatedly grind the wearing course and throw fine particles into the air. DUSTZEN Road penetrates the upper surface, surrounds loose fines and forms a cohesive, flexible network as the water evaporates.
Longer-Lasting Control
Designed to extend suppression beyond the short wetting cycle of plain water.
Improved Visibility
Helps limit dust plumes behind haul trucks and site vehicles.
Reduced Watering Demand
May reduce repeat water-only applications after site optimisation.
Flexible Surface Binding
Maintains cohesion while tolerating normal road-surface movement.
Dust affects safety, productivity and
water use.
Road dust is not only a housekeeping issue. It affects driver visibility, equipment condition, material retention and the frequency of tanker operation.
Visibility Loss
Persistent plumes can obstruct vehicles, intersections and working faces.
Repeat Spraying
Plain water evaporates quickly and may require frequent tanker cycles.
Dust Ingress
Fine airborne particles can increase cleaning and filtration demand.
Loss of Road Fines
Wind and traffic remove the fine fraction needed for a well-bound surface.
Four stages of polymer road stabilisation
Dilute
Blend DUSTZEN Road into clean water under gentle agitation.
Apply
Distribute uniformly through a water tanker, spray bar or fixed spraying system.
Penetrate & Bind
The diluted polymer wets the road fines and forms inter-particle bridges.
Dry & Stabilise
Water evaporates, leaving a flexible cohesive network within the treated surface.
Select concentration by traffic and duty.
Dilution must be finalised by a site trial. Road porosity, grading, climate, rainfall, traffic intensity and available application equipment all affect performance.
Use the stronger end of the range for initial treatment, high dust loading or demanding traffic. Use higher dilution for maintenance treatments after surface conditioning. These are orientation values, not a fixed universal dose.
Initial
Conditioning
Use a stronger polymer concentration on untreated, porous or severely dusty roads. Apply uniformly and allow the surface to set before evaluating traffic performance.
Routine
Maintenance
After the road has developed a bound surface, evaluate a more dilute maintenance application based on observed dust return.
High-Traffic /
High-Wind
Increase treatment strength or application frequency after a controlled field trial. Correct road grading and drainage remain essential.
From road preparation to performance check
Best results come from applying to a well-graded surface with suitable moisture, drainage and compaction.
Inspect & Grade
Repair potholes, establish drainage and restore the wearing-course profile.
Prepare Solution
Charge clean water first, then add DUSTZEN Road slowly with gentle mixing.
Spray Uniformly
Use calibrated spray bars and avoid untreated strips, overspray and ponding.
Allow Penetration
Permit the solution to enter the fines and develop cohesion before heavy traffic.
Monitor & Maintain
Track dust return, surface integrity and tanker frequency to set the maintenance cycle.
Confirm performance under actual site conditions.
Recommended Site-Trial Checks
- Visible dust plume behind representative vehicles
- Surface cohesion after drying and traffic exposure
- Time until dust returns
- Water-tanker cycles before and after treatment
- Skid behaviour and braking response
- Effect of rainfall, drainage and road grading
- Nozzle performance and spray uniformity
Always complete environmental, equipment, tyre-traction and operational checks before full-scale adoption.
One platform for multiple unpaved routes.
Mine Haul Roads
Primary and secondary routes used by loaded haul trucks and service vehicles.
Quarry & Plant Tracks
Crusher approaches, quarry loops, stockyard lanes and internal plant roads.
Construction Access
Unpaved project roads, equipment corridors and temporary access routes.
