DUSTZEN®
TRANSPORT
Top-surface sealing technology for coal, ore, mineral fines and other bulk materials carried in open rail cars and trucks—designed to reduce windblown dust, product loss and corridor emissions.
Create a flexible seal before the vehicle departs.
Airflow over an open load can lift exposed fines throughout the journey. DUSTZEN Transport is sprayed across the profiled top surface after loading. As water evaporates, the polymer develops a cohesive veneer that helps the load resist wind shear, vibration and normal settling.
Windblown-Dust Reduction
Helps prevent exposed fines from leaving the rail car or truck body.
Reduced Product Loss
Retains more saleable material during long-haul movement.
Flexible Veneer
Designed to accommodate limited load settlement without brittle failure.
Fast In-Line Treatment
Suitable for repeatable spray application after loading and profiling.
Speed, crosswinds and vibration continuously disturb the load.
Unprotected bulk material can shed fine particles from loading site to destination. Plain water offers only temporary wetting and may evaporate before the most exposed part of the route.
Wind Shear
Air moving across the load removes dry, light particles from the exposed surface.
Load Settlement
Vibration and shifting can open untreated seams and expose new fines.
Material Loss
Repeated loss over long routes reduces delivered mass and creates cleanup costs.
Off-Site Emissions
Visible dust can affect roads, rail corridors, communities and compliance performance.
Four stages from loading to protected transit
Profile
Level and shape the load so the complete exposed surface can be reached uniformly.
Spray
Apply the diluted solution through an overhead header, gantry or mobile boom.
Bind
The polymer distributes through the upper fines and develops particle cohesion.
Seal
After drying, a flexible veneer helps the load resist wind and transit movement.
Match treatment strength to route severity.
The optimum concentration and spray volume depend on material fineness and moisture, load geometry, wagon or truck dimensions, route speed, journey duration, weather and required protection.
Use the stronger end of the range for very fine or dry material, high speeds, long journeys and severe crosswinds. Higher dilution may suit shorter routes or damp material. Finalise settings through a controlled route trial.
Short-Haul
Trucks
Target uniform sealing with practical drying time before the vehicle enters public or exposed roads.
Long-Haul
Rail
Use a repeatable gantry programme that covers the full wagon length, edges and centre crown.
Severe Wind /
Fine Material
Evaluate stronger concentration or two controlled passes while avoiding runoff and excess load moisture.
Build a continuous, repeatable top seal.
Accurate vehicle positioning, consistent flow and complete edge coverage are more important than heavy local wetting.
Load & Profile
Complete loading, level high spots and create a stable, sprayable top surface.
Prepare Solution
Charge clean water first, add DUSTZEN Transport slowly and mix gently.
Position Vehicle
Align the wagon or truck beneath the calibrated spray header or boom.
Apply Uniformly
Run overlapping passes across the centre, edges and full load length.
Dry & Release
Confirm complete coverage and allow initial film development before dispatch.
Confirm seal performance on the actual load and route.
Recommended Route-Trial Checks
- Coverage across centre, shoulders and load edges
- Veneer continuity after drying
- Dust emissions at representative route speeds
- Condition after vibration, braking and load settlement
- Performance in crosswinds and dry weather
- Delivered mass and wagon or truck cleanliness
- Unloading and downstream process compatibility
Confirm environmental suitability, receiver requirements and material quality before full-scale adoption.
Top-surface protection across bulk logistics.
Open Rail Wagons
Coal, coke, ore and mineral fines moving through exposed rail corridors.
Tipper & Haul Trucks
Top sealing for bulk loads travelling on mine roads, site routes and public corridors.
Gantry & Spray Headers
