solids.

Potassium Formate 75% is a concentrated monovalent organic salt brine. Its high solution density provides hydrostatic pressure control while the solids-free fluid system avoids the settling and particulate invasion associated with conventional weighting materials.

The 75% liquid is supplied as a ready-to-handle concentrate and may be used to prepare application-specific formate brines after laboratory checks for density, crystallisation temperature, compatibility and required performance.

Concentration 75% ± 1.5% w/w
Density at 20°C 1.57 ± 0.02 g/cm³
Crystallisation Below −50°C
Physical Form Solids-Free Clear Liquid

Product FAQ

Frequently Asked
Questions

Key questions regarding Potassium Formate 75% dilution, solids-free brine performance and pre-use checks.

Can Potassium Formate 75% be diluted?
Yes. The source page positions it as a concentrate for preparing lower-density formate brines. Confirm the final density and crystallisation point after dilution.
Why use a solids-free brine?
It removes the need for suspended weighting solids, helping avoid settling, sag and particulate invasion associated with solid-weighted fluids.
What must be checked before downhole use?
Density, crystallisation temperature, fluid compatibility, corrosion, elastomers, formation interaction and the planned temperature-pressure profile.
